Communication Chair

Danielle Seeman, LCSW, RPT™ serves as our Media/Communication Chair. She is responsible for oversight of TNAPT communications with the members and the public through email, website, and social media accounts.

Duties Include: 

  • Develop and implement a communications plan that aligns with TNAPT's mission and annual strategic priorities.

  • Ensure TNAPT meets the minimum required member communications annually

  • Serve as the primary coordinator of organizational communications to members and external audiences.

  • Check updated member roster on APT prior to sending any communication 

  • Create, edit, and distribute member communications, including email announcements, newsletters, and other official correspondence.

  • Collaborate with the Social Media Chair,  Conference Chair, Membership Chair, and Board members to ensure consistent branding and messaging across all communication platforms.

  • Promote Association events, conferences, workshops, membership opportunities, advocacy initiatives, and special programs through multiple communication channels.

  • Ensure communications are timely, professional, accurate, and consistent with TNAPT's mission and brand identity.

  • Assist with drafting official announcements, press releases, and public statements as requested by the President or Board of Directors.

  • Maintain and update communication templates, branding guidelines, and organizational messaging resources.

  • Ensure that all images and content posted have appropriate permissions and protect client confidentiality in accordance with ethical and legal standards.

  • Coordinate communication timelines to ensure members receive advance notice of meetings, educational events, elections, and other important activities.

  • Respond to general communication inquiries or direct them to the appropriate Board member or committee.

  • Provide quarterly communication reports to TNAPT Board members

  • Serve as a point of contact for TNAPT members' communication needs.

  • Ensure TNAPT Board members sign and are in compliance with the communication policy

  • Assist with promoting Play Therapy Week, membership recruitment campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and community outreach efforts.

  • Monitor communication effectiveness through engagement metrics and recommend improvements to increase member participation and organizational visibility.

  • Maintain an archive of newsletters, announcements, templates, and communication materials for future leadership.

  • Facilitate an organized transition of communication files, passwords, and resources to the incoming Communications Chair.


Leadership Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with all committees to ensure clear, coordinated communication throughout the organization.

  • Promote transparency and timely information sharing between the Board and membership.

  • Support member engagement by highlighting TNAPT accomplishments, volunteer opportunities, and member recognition.

  • Help strengthen TNAPT's professional image through consistent and effective communications.

  • Recommend communication strategies that improve outreach, member retention, and organizational growth.
